I disagree with Stephen A Smith. I am an alumni of alcorn state university... JSU is ASU biggest rival. We play them at the end of the year every year...... Sanders could be a powerful tool to not only put JSU and ASU on the map.. .. But put the entire SWAC on the map. They better take care of that man long story short. I'm glad he did it the way he did it. It puts the school on notice that this kind of behavior is present and will not be tolerated. This also lets people know that Jackson, Mississippi is a VERY POOR city and state for that matter. This provides context to how Deion and every recruit will have to conduct themselves in a city that does not necessarily see this as an opportunity to better themselves in the correct way but take shortcuts. I can also tell you that not everyone is happy about Deion coming to town, mainly because he will hold everyone in that University and Town accountable. It is an interesting experiment.

As a BLACK math teacher ...I started opening the gym after school, puting on auditorium programs, since I'm a gospel pianist I started 7 high school Gospel choir's across the Midwest. However each school that I taught & worked extra at... There were always racist teachers who did everything go get me in TROUBLE or FIRED. They STALKED ME because I'm that GIFTED. Their intentions were to get me to LEAVE their town & allow BLACK YOUTH to be under their CONTROL. I taught at 8 different schools in 5 different states but guess what my REWARD has been? .. I an NOW considered the BEST math teacher that they had EVER seen. I took on a student that hadn't passed math since grade 5 & is now a 11th grader. His ENTIRE demeanor changed. He began being the 1st student to class daily with pencil & paper ready to begin. I'm a PErSONALITY EXPERT. ...I can REACH nearly anyone....if I use a students personality to teach them math. Recall is much simpler when the student uses math from their own ENVIRONMENT. Example: I teach geometry (most failed math class in the world) to football players by using the fields parallel & perpendicular LINES. All my football clients have PASSED after I did that.

Integrity should mean something. Flat out lying about something that happened because you are worried that the image of the college will be tarnished is wrong. Deion was 100% right here. I totally disagree with Stephen A. Smith. Deion is absolutely correct! People have to hold themselves and their community to a higher standard. IF you see someone doing something dishonourable, you call them out. Do not wait for someone else to do it, do it yourself! If something is unacceptable, DO NOT ACCEPT IT! He is calling for the improvement of every aspect of that environment. Everyone! Deion is changing the culture and this helps. Jackson State had their school president arrested for running a prostitution ring within last few years. SAS handling it differently is what many HBCU’s have done which is how they’ve gotten to this point. JSU campus police should’ve have already been working with Deion to make sure locker room and offices were secure.

This also brings up another issue. The poverty level in these communities as this isnt the first issue Deion has had there. Until these cities get higher paying jobs and careers for citiznes, expect more crimes regardless of who ppl take from. Some desperate ppl out here and they will take just to eat. Fixing this isnt just an easy fix. Its going to take a State and Local effort to bring opportunities to stop the crime in low income areas. Crime = low income areas. Its a reason rich/wealthy communities have less crime. No reason to steal.
