Why do people seem obsessed with having non hd consoles in widescreen? It's only anamorphic meaning the amount of detail, horizontally at least, is slightly worse. You're taking the resolution of the 4:3 image and stretching it out, just gives you a less sharp picture.

Technically Wii did have one more improvement, you could actually get the component cables at a respectable price. Even now with the 3rd party alternative cables out there like the GCHD series it's so expensive to get better video out of the GC you might as well just get a Wii. Also I wonder if these titles were a hint, since they later dropped GC support. Leaving you with the choice of either owning a GC and Wii, or hoping they make more of these re-releases.

I actually think the Gamecube versions of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are superior personally and I feel like I'm definitely in the minority. The lock on works fantastically in those games and while you can aim faster on Wii I don't actually feel it does anything to improve the games the way they're designed. 3 is designed around the IR Aiming with weakspots on enemies and much more compact level design to allow for frequent breaks and prevent constantly needing to aim offscreen to turn all the way around, but I just don't like the first two that much with it. There's a reason 3 is designed so radically different from the first two with multiple short linear levels and stacking beams and such.

With the Nintendont homebrew, you have the option to play every Gamecube game with Wiimote and Nunchuck, thus turning every Gamecube game into a New Play Control Wii one... kinda. Let's just say it doesn't have enough buttons and it's way too janky for anyone's good.

SCOTT HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE SCOTT THE WOZ MUSICAL

I have the Pikmin games and Metroid Prime Trilogy (Steelbook Edition baby!) and yeah they're so much better than the GameCube versions in terms of controls and the widescreen support is welcome. However each Metroid Prime game has one or more alterations that I don't like. For instance Metroid Prime has a lot of graphical effects removed, all charge beam effects are removed and the water splash as mentioned. Prime 2 they changed the Temple Key collection music from being utterly epic to just sounding dull as hell. Prime 3 has one specific change and the only I noticed in the game, it's in Skytown. Later in the game after you've gotten the Screw Attack you'll encounter a room that you can only traverse via the Screw Attack. You have to time your jumps though to make it through opening and closing gaps to far off platforms. In the original those platforms were malfunctioning machinery that opened and closed, in the Trilogy version they changed it to just force fields that come on and off. Overall though, would recommend the Prime Trilogy over the original versions.

I love how people felt towards the Gamecube when it came out at first, but when these games game out "oh boy! that looks good!".....still trying to figure out why for the newer versions of the Wii they took out the ability to play Gamecube games.....
