The first time I heard the end of the airplane story I almost crashed my car on the highway. Literally one of the funnest stories I've ever heard. Skateboard story is also epic.... My ex is an alcoholic, and he had the habit of falling A LOT, which I, like Bill, find hilarious no regardless of who does it, or why. No matter how hard I try, I can't not laugh for at least a solid minute. Anyways, one night I came home from work, and as I walked in, I instantly saw blood EVERYWHERE. Puddles of it, handprints on the wall, smears on the door, dripping from the lamp, etc. I turned the corner, and found him lying on the floor COVERED in blood, with it pooled all around him, I thought he for sure was dead. Like, if it was a scene from a horror movie, you'd think, "Well that seems a bit excessive." Thankfully he was alive, and after composing myself, I called 911. Now at that time, we lived in a big city in the part of town that required a pretty large police, and firefighter presence. In other words, they'd seen some shit. So, a few minutes later, they arrived at our place, and I kid you not, every guy through that door said something along the lines of, "What. The. Fuck!!!", or "HOLY SHIT!!! What happened here?" After they assessed the situation, they asked me to step outside for a moment, and talk to one of the cops. Found out later that was because they wanted to get him alone, so they could ask him a few questions, namely, did I beat him over the head with a hammer? They were convinced it couldn't have been from a simple fall, so I must have done it. But nope, he just fell, and hit his head on the corner of our coffee table, and because he was drinking heavily, it wouldn't stop bleeding. He couldn't reach his phone, so he laid there, like that for more than 3 hours. He ended up with 15-20 staples in his head, and some nasty cuts, and bruises on his face. Wouldn't you know it, his drunk ass fell AGAIN the very next day, and split it open. Oh yeah, and his blood alcohol level was a .525!!! No one could believe he was still breathing. So I guess this was a very long winded, and completely unnecessary way of saying, "Yep, you're probably right when you say that cop seemed unimpressed by the accident victim, because they've seen far worse than that. If the bloodbath at our place shocked them, no way some scrapes, and road rash would be cause for concern.

Alcohol = thin blood. Dude was lucky to be alive.

Shame for him. I hope he is doing alright.
